This run/walk program is perfect for newcomers, as the walk breaks help mentally break up the race into segments, so you can focus on one section at a time. These breaks help make the marathon less grueling, as well as reduces the overall impact and risk of injury.

But don’t think that just because walking is involved that your time will be slower, or that you're accomplishing less.
